Our Team

Gina Schley

Gina is one of the first farmer-florist to launch the concept of a Flower CSA, inspired by the many vegetable CSA’s seen in the regenerative agriculture movement. She is a CSU Certified Master Gardener, DUG Master Community Gardener, and a certified aromatherapist through the School of Aromatic Studies. She launched SHEGROWS in 2018 to grow community through the cultivation of flowers.

She is the founder of Rose Roots Community Garden in Arvada, the largest community garden in the State of Colorado. She is an alumni of Floret’s Flower Farming Workshop and was highlighted in their Small Plot Big Impact E-Book. She can be seen on multiple news stations sharing her gardening knowledge, has online courses, and her and her husband can be seen hosting the award winning PBS and Create TV docuseries called Urban Conversion.

Alex montoya

Alex has magic in her fingertips and can grow anything from seed. You’ll find her in the greenhouse most of winter, and in the flower fields throughout the summer making sure everything is planted, healthy, and blooming on schedule. When she’s not at the farm, she’s growing her own cut flowers in her urban backyard, being a new boy mom, bird watching, or drawing birds.

sara pappas

Sara makes numbers look beautiful. You’ll find Sara harvesting flowers on Mondays with 3 year old daughter in tow, behind emails and sales tax, and keeping the administrative part of the farm organized throughout the year. She’s an avid gardener, designer, children’s book author, and world traveler. Sara keeps our team smiling and is often caught smelling the roses.
